About Us: Who We Are and What We Do

Empowering Learning is a small and dynamic ethical teacher training and recruitment consultancy based in Hackney, East London. It was created eight years ago by its Director, Lynne Hannigan, specialising in the training and placement of EMA/EAL teachers.

Empowering Learning has since expanded into the placement of both teaching and support staff in primary and secondary schools at all levels. In addition we have developed a Family Language Project for parents and children in primary education.

We offer a comprehensive training package for Overseas Trained Teachers. All registered candidates benefit from 16 evening theory training sessions spread across a term which are linked to practical work experience in one of our supportive link schools.

We are committed to the professional growth of our candidates and to enhancing the strong established relationship with our schools and the local community.
