Outreach Co-ordinator
Most of my working life has been involved with education and training. Starting with Local Authority administration, I moved through Social Services office management and into Social Work training. On the way, I enjoyed working in the Language Support services in Barking and Redbridge. I have gained experience of organising courses, conferences and events in schools and colleges in three London Boroughs and in Essex.
I had a wonderful year as a teaching assistant in a Primary and a Secondary School in Ontario, Canada. In addition to regular classroom activities this involved actively joining pupils in swimming, skating and skiing lessons and being a beaver cub leader. I have a qualification as a counsellor and mentor.
I am known by my colleagues at Empowering Learning as
“Dictionary Corner” because of my extensive knowledge of useless
information.
