Empowering Learning was established in 2003. The idea for the company grew from my meetings with many Overseas Trained Teachers (OTTs) who wanted to teach in the UK, but were unable to negotiate the route by themselves.
What a waste, I thought.
I decided to use my time as head of the Ethnic Minority Achievement Service in Barking & Dagenham, my experience in the voluntary sector and contacts in many community groups to establish Empowering Learning.
Belonging to the team at Empowering Learning is a delight. I am surrounded by committed, funny and clever colleagues who care about our candidates. The teachers we train become part of our extended family and keep in touch.
I love walking, city breaks, eating out with friends and visiting my daughter and son in law in Dubai.
